Karla - The Person

Wouldn’t it be nice for you to know who you’re meeting with? Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Karla, pronouns she/her/hers and I identify as a womxn of Mexican descent. I am also a daughter, a sister, a partner, a mother, a therapist, and a healer. I am a constant seeker of growth and healing. I have dedicated most of my adult life to healing my deep-rooted wounds in order to be able to better serve the people I have the honor to work with. I am a fan social interactions, personal connections and meaningful conversations.

As multifaceted beings, I strongly feel that every part of ourselves plays a crucial role in our families, our jobs and our communities. In order to grow deeper into ourselves, I think its fundamental to embrace all of those parts that make us who we truly are and to honor our identity as a whole.

Can you tell I love to laugh? I consider myself to be a silly, sarcastic and easy going person. But you can always decide that on your own. I love to live life to the fullest, whether chillin’ at home watching TV, planning the next vacation or meeting with clients on a weekly basis, I truly enjoy it all! I also love sports, specially baseball and swimming. I enjoy hikes, yoga and weight lifting, as much as I love laying on the couch for hours. As long as my heart is smiling, I am down for it!

Karla - The Therapist

I am a strong believer that the therapeutic process is more successful when the therapist and the client collaborate as a unit. Working together creates a therapeutic bond based on trust, communication and empathy. It is my goal to provide a safe space for clients to express themselves without fear of being judged or invalidated. It is my passion to help clients reconnect with those parts of themselves that felt lost and forgotten. I feel committed to join people in their journey towards awareness, insight and healing. My role as a therapist is to remind you that all the tools and strengths you are seeking are already inside of you. Through our work together we will rediscover those parts of you that you’ve been missing. Self work will be our priority: self-love, self-care, self-discovery, self-compassion, self-awareness, self-accountability, keeping in mind that the way you speak to yourself will determine how you establish relationships with others. The techniques and interventions will be tailored to your specific needs.

Karla - The Reiki Practitioner

I am also a Reiki Master Teacher. I tend to incorporate a client-centered, empathetic, and validating approach into our sessions. Although this is not psycho-therapy, and not by any means should Reiki be considered as a sole treatment for your mental health needs, I like to fuse my clinical expertise with my spiritual abilities to go deeper in our sessions. My spiritual path has been quite a ride. From premonitory dreams as a child, to sensing people's feelings through the slightest touch. I’ve realized I am intuitive by nature and an empath by calling. I recently re-discovered my gifts and abilities to channel energy and messages from Source. Although Reiki does not require touch in order to be effective, I’ve learned that I work best by making a slight physical connection in order to tap into your energy. Nevertheless, I like to be trauma-informed and respect personal space if the client requests not be touched. Join me in this amazing journey we call healing!
